A full range of chemical handling equipment and storage containers which includes chemical bunds, decant stations, storage containers and spill kits to enable safe handling and storage of chemical.
The Health and Safety at Work, etc. Act 1974 places a general duty under section 2(2) on employers to make arrangements to ensure, so far as is reasonably practical, the safety and absence of risk to health in connection with the use, handling, storage and transportation of articles and substances.
The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 1988 (COSHH) came into force on 1-Oct-89. The regulations place certain duties on the employer and employee. The duties are described in regulations 6 to 12 inclusive.
The main requirements on employers in order to comply with COSHH regulations are:
Assessment of health risks created by work involving substances hazardous to health. R6.
To prevent or control exposure to substances hazardous to health. R7.
To provide and use control measures; e.g. personal protective equipment (PPE), and to take all reasonable steps to ensure they are properly used. R8.
To maintain, examine and test control measures; e.g. PPE. R9
To monitor exposure at the workplace. R10.
To provide health surveillance, where appropriate, for employees liable to be exposed to a substance hazardous to health. R11.
To provide employees with suitable information, instruction and training regarding the risk and precautions. R12.
