Line Lubricants

Lubrication of steel slat conveyor Many liquid food and drink stuffs are packed in glass (sauces, jams, wines, beers), cans (carbonated drinks) or cartons (milk).  Modern high speed filling lines move containers at speeds that are often in excess of 70,000 units/hour through fillers, pasteurisers, labellers and packing machines.  During these operations it is essential that containers are able to slide freely on conveyor surfaces, but have sufficient grip to remain stable on inclined sections. Additionally, in the event of a line blockage, conveyors must have some freedom to slide under stationary packaging until movement of load detectors switch the drive motors off.
Two types of conveyor lubrication are widely employed; namely wet lubrication where an aqueous solution is used or dry lube where a non water based liquid is used.
