Nationally Accredited Training Courses
Training courses available
Holchem is proud to have created a range of nationally accredited training courses aimed specifically at those responsible for the management of hygiene operations in the modern food processing / manufacturing industry. These courses have been designed from first principles with learning outcomes designed to meet the needs of professional hygiene managers and supervisors.
Holchem Laboratories, winners of the SoFHT Training Company of the Year Award in 2008, have had an enviable reputation for high quality training for many years delivering an industry standard Management of Cleaning and Disinfection Course (MOCAD) for over 10 years along with bespoke and tailored training courses to producers, retailers and technologists. In recent years Holchem has returned to first principles and launched a range of courses built from learning outcomes designed to equip today’s hygiene management professionals with the knowledge and understanding they need to build competency in this vital area of managing food safety in a fast moving, modern industry.
Nationally accredited qualifications include:
The
Level III Professional Food Processing Hygiene Management
course remains the only award aimed specifically designed to meet the needs for those engaged in hygiene management and covers topics such as: -
Management of people
Microbiology
Legislation
Cleaning Technology and chemistry
The role cleaning plays in managing allergens
Health, Safety and the Environment
This course is supported by, and features in, the Campden BRI training portfolio and is run in venues across the UK throughout the year in 2 x three day blocks with a portfolio of evidence being submitted to the Open College Network for verification.
The
University Certificate of Professional Development in Food Processing Hygiene Management
is administered by Teeside University and is an advanced 6 day course covering management, environment, auditing skills and crises management and builds on the knowledge gained in the Level III course, whilst being open to suitably qualified managers. The award is, once again, assessed by submission of a portfolio of evidence and is nationally accredited at the equivalent of a Level IV NVQ or first year degree.
Holchem’s most recent innovation has been to develop a one day
Hygiene Management Supervision Course
which is accredited by the Open College Network (subject to panel approval) as a Level II course covering cleaning application and techniques, assessing hygiene operations, cost controls and the management of automatic washing systems. Assessment is via a series of workshops undertaken throughout the day which build into a workbook which is submitted to an external moderator for award recommendation. The inclusion of accreditation to this level of course will assist to develop the competence of those engaged in the first-tier of hygiene management in a cost effective way.
Holchem has also embraced new technology by developing an industry leading
e-learning package
aimed at operative level covering cleaning techniques, safe chemical handling, chemical identification and basic first aid. This course is assessed by interactive games as well as the more traditional questions and leads to the generation of a certificate of completion.
