Foam cleaning has for several decades been the method of choice for large scale cleaning of Food Production plants. Although a long-cling foam is often needed to obtain satisfactory cleaning results, washing the resultant stable foam away down (sometimes) inadequate drains, can be a major problem. What was needed was a product that would give the customer the necessary long cling time and effective clean yet would then collapse and rinse away down drains easily.
Express Foam represents Holchem’s latest generation of alkaline foams and addresses the traditional problem of poor rinseability of long cling foams. In addition, Express Foam has a number of useful green credentials. It is P Free (Phosphate Free) thereby not contributing to effluent discharge levels and is EDTA free giving improved biodegradability.
Chlorpress represents Holchem’s latest generation of chlor-alkaline foams and addresses the traditional problem of poor rinseability of long cling foams. In addition, Chlorpress has a number of useful green credentials. It is P Free (Phosphate Free) thereby not contributing to effluent discharge levels.
In factory trials Chlorpress was found to reduce rinse down times by around 25 – 50% compared to a traditional Long Cling foam.
Holchem’s approach to open plant cleaning favours dilutable detergents applied as a foam. However, occasionally there is a need to apply a more concentrated product; in these instances, ready to use gel technology is appropriate.
Whereas foam technologies will always eventually drain from surfaces, gels have the advantage of giving very long contact time; this makes them ideal for removing very stubborn soils. Also gels have the advantage that they will cling to most surfaces whereas foams tend to very quickly fall off thin sections such as poultry shackles.
Ultra-Gel Plus is a blend of Sodium and Potassium Hydroxides to give an alkalinity of circa 3.0% expressed as wt/wt Sodium Hydroxide and is applied in it’s neat (as supplied) form through a suitable sprayer.
