There are two main types of proportioning unit that make use of water flow to proportion chemical into the water stream; namely bucket fill and blend centre proportioners or Dosatron proportioners.
Working on the venturi principle, they are available in many configurations and are quality dilution units that should provide trouble free operation if installed and maintained correctly. These proportioners provide a safe, controlled and economic method for dilution of chemicals into an open container, such as a bucket, sprayer or sink. They are not suitable for feeding hoses longer than one metre, or piped/ valved systems.
These proportioners provide a safe, controlled and economic method for dilution of chemical dilution into both open containers and sprayers and brushes. Electricity-free operation and driven by the flow of water there are a range available to suit specific needs.
Note: Under Water Authority regulations, no chemical dilution equipment may be connected directly to the mains supply. Therefore a break in the supply using a type ‘A’ air gap will be required.
