Bury Hospice

We are pleased to announce that, after an internal vote of Holchem employees, Bury Hospice will be our charity of choice. Holchem will provide the Hospice with support towards their running costs by donating the cleaning products that are required for the hospice’s kitchen, accommodation, washroom and laundry. Holchem will be providing the same for the Bury Children’s Hospice; once running in 9 months’ time.

It costs £3m per year to run the Hospice with only £350,000 per year provided by Government assistance. The remaining £2.65m per year needs to come from donations and fundraising. Bury Hospice recently moved to a new £5m purpose built building with their old building being converted, at a cost of £1m, to become Bury Children’s Hospice. Bury Children’s Hospice will support seriously ill children from Bury, Rochdale and Oldham.

Bury Hospice

Bury Hospice offers care and support not only to people approaching the end of life – though that is a very important part of their service – but also to their families and friends.  They offer outstanding care, from in-patient to day care services, hospice at home and outpatient support, and aim to help Bury people achieve the best possible quality of life at a time when this matters more than ever.

Building work was completed in December 2012 on the new home for Bury Hospice. The hope remains that, with the new state-of-the-art facilities, an increase from five inpatient beds to twelve, and a wide range of day and outpatient clinics and services, the benefits of a model of care previously available to only a few people will, in time, be extended to all who need it.

We are proud as a company to be associated with a charity that does such outstanding work in the local community. If you feel that you would like to make a donation please use the link.
