We were one of the sponsors of this year’s Meat Business Women conference which took place on 14th May in Painters Hall London and was attended by 180 delegates including three female members of the Holchem team.  It’s a key date in the diary for all women working in the industry and provides a vital networking opportunity and the chance to learn and gain inspiration from our female peers.

The conference was addressed by a number of illustrious female speakers including:

  • Christine Middlemiss, Chief Veterinary Officer
  • Temple Grandin, American Professor of Animal Science at Colorado State University,
  • Ursula Lavery Technical and R&D Director Europe, Moy Park,
  • Teresa Exelby People Director, Morrisons Manufacturing
  • Phil Hadley International Development Director, AHDB
  • Sophie Devonshire CEO The Caffeine Partnership & Lead at Speed author
  • Mel Wombwell & Kylie Roberts SHIFT unlimited

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal also presented an insight into animal production systems and the importance of groups such as Meat Business Women to inspire the future generation of talent in the industry.

Commenting on the event, Cath Chapman, Holchem National Accounts Manager, said: This is the second year we have been involved in Meat Business Women Annual Conference and it delivered a very insightful, series of talks about female roles in the Meat Industry and working in a male dominated industry. It was particularly interesting to listen to her Royal Highness The Princess Royal talking about inspiring the future generation of women in the industry.  We will be sharing our new found knowledge with all of the Holchem team
