One of the most important elements of team development here at Holchem is our Continuous Improvement Programme. It is an important part of the whole team’s training plan and takes place on a regular basis at Gateway House. It is designed to ensure that we are constantly improving and refreshing our knowledge to ensure the hygiene solutions we develop for our customers are the best they can be.
A recent training session on Listeria Management was carried out by our Technical Director John Holah and David Childs, Technical Service Manager. The course was attended by 36 members of the team from the Sales, Hygiene Technologist and Technical Service Management departments. The aim of the training was to provide all attendees with the latest knowledge on how to prevent Listeria from entering a food manufacturing environment. The course also covered how to eliminate harbourage areas, how to reduce the spread of Listeria within the processing environment, how to remove microorganisms by effective cleaning and disinfection and how to implement an effective sampling program for Listeria. The training also involved an exam designed to ensure that everyone had thoroughly understood the course content.
Commenting on the course John Holah said: It’s always interesting training your own colleagues and this particular course plays a really important role in ensuring we communicate the latest knowledge in Listeria management to our teams. It’s key that they can then impart the additional knowledge to their customers when formulating their cleaning solutions.
