Jim Taylour, our Head of Products, Research and Development, has been appointed to the board of the British Association of Chemical Specialities (BACS). The BACS is the trade association for the sector of the chemical industry concerned with surfactants. Member companies are either prime producers of surfactants or companies like ourselves here at Holchem who use surfactants to produce formulated speciality products.
The BACS influences the way the chemical industry interprets legislation and deals with other bodies such as the Health and Safety Executive, Food Standards Agency and central Government. Jim’s appointment is a reflection of his depth of knowledge and experience in providing and developing new hygiene solutions and relevant products.
Commenting on his appointment, John Holah, Technical Director of Holchem said: Jim performs a hugely important role here at Holchem and we’re delighted that he is involved with the BACS. He will be able to use his extensive experience and knowledge to help its members interpret and keep up to date with regulatory and industry developments and represent the interests of the sector.
