Grant Alexander Lyle, Sandy to us, sadly passed away on Tuesday 9th April 2013 in hospital in East Kilbride. He was born on the 7th April 1966. Sandy attended Hunter High School in East Kilbride and then studied Horticulture at Langside College Glasgow. After 4 years as Head Green Keeper at Townley Park, Burnley Sandy returned to his beloved Scotland and worked as Hygiene Manager, Scotbeef for 6 years before joining Holchem on the 19th February 1996 as a Technical Sales Consultant for southern Scotland. Sandy was promoted to Senior Technical Sales Consultant for Holchem and was instrumental in supporting his customers in southern Scotland. Sandy left Holchem and went to work for CCL as Business Development Manager in September 2012. Sandy married Diane in 1995 and Rebecca was born on 4th September 1999. Sandy was a devoted father to Rebecca and loving husband to his wife Diane. Work colleagues from Holchem including some ex. Holchem work colleagues joined family and friends at Sandy’s funeral in East Kilbride. Diane and Rebecca were amazingly strong at the funeral with Diane giving a moving, loving and amusing account of Sandy’s life. Sandy was a regular member of the Salvation Army in East Kilbride and the funeral service was conducted by Captain Stephen Baker. We will all have different and fond memories of Sandy but I think all will agree that he was a gentle giant of a man. He will be sorely missed.
