Mike McHardy, Division Manager Food Service, Hospitality and Retail at Holchem, details his career in this issue of Team Talk.


How long have you been In your role: “I have been in my role across food service, hospitality and retail since I joined the company six years ago.”

What was your career path to your role: “I started working in the hygiene solutions industry back in the 80s in a sales role within a company’s catering division.   I have stayed in the same industry ever since.”

What responsibilities/roles does your job include: “There’s certainly lots to do within my role.  On a day to day basis it includes account management, sales development, managing the team, developing and implementing strategy and developing product projects alongside our technical team. It keeps me busy.”

What’s your favourite part of your job: “I really enjoy the close working relationship we have with our customers.  It’s one Holchem’s strengths.”

What does a ‘typical’ day look like for you? “In all honesty no two days are the same working at Holchem.  My role is so varied and includes so many different things that there is no set pattern to my working day.”

What would your dream job be? “Move over Sebastian Vettel as I would love to be an F1 driver, in a gleaming red ferrari.”

Tell us about your interests outside of work “I enjoy eating out, listening to music, watching sport with the odd game of golf and socialising with friends”
