The UK pub sector is under constant scrutiny. It’s a hugely important industry for the economy and is at the forefront of new trends within food and drink. *A recent report from Mintel found that value-for-money gastropubs are fueling the pub sector. Diners want set menus and pubs are premiumising them to chase higher spending. There is potential to boost lunch sales, given that diners are interested in lunchtime takeaway options. However, dishes high in sugar, salt and fat may have to be reformulated if pubs wish to win favour with health-conscious diners. Under-45s are interested in using apps to book tables, pre-order and pay.
We are working with our customers within the industry to ensure that they are able to implement the highest standards of cleanliness in their kitchens and also front of house so that customers have the best possible experience. Warewashing to floor care to hand hygiene to application, dosing and control of detergents and disinfectants all play a part in achieving a hygienic environment.
The nature of our pubs may be changing and the way we as customers interact with them will also. However, there is one stable factor that remains the same and that is hygiene procedures and standards have to be met and exceeded for any pub to be a successful business.
