Disinfectants and COVID-19

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues with rising case numbers coinciding with the opening up of certain businesses and more freedoms, choosing the right disinfectant and knowing the correct way to use it is key for all affected business.   Across food and drink processing sites, the brewing industry as well as hospitality there’s a wide range of disinfectant products available, and they vary in active ingredients, how they can be applied and intended use.

The Holchem team have been working with customers to ensure they are using the right disinfectant for the business needs and that the products and the associated hygiene routines are achieving the correct results.  Details of a selection of the Kersia disinfectant products is below (click here for a complete list):

Surface Disinfectants

• Active is a triamine based surface disinfectant used widely in the food and beverage sector at a dilution of 1 to 5% v/v depending on the challenge.
  EN1276 at 1% v/v, EN1650 at 1% v/v, EN13697 at 1% v/v & EN14476 at 3% v/v (Enveloped Viruses) and at 5% v/v (Adenovirus, Norovirus).
• Holquat is a Quaternary Ammonium Chloride based surface disinfectant used widely in the food and beverage sector at a dilution of 1 to 4% v/v depending on the challenge.
  EN1276 at 1% v/v, EN1650 at 1-2% v/v, EN13697 at 1% v/v & EN14476 at 4% v/v (Enveloped viruses).
• Perbac OPD is a peracetic acid based disinfectant. When diluted to use strength it is a broad spectrum disinfectant used as an open plant surface disinfectant containing an equilibrium blend of Acetic Acid and Hydrogen Peroxide.
  EN1276 at 400ppm PAA, EN13697 at 400ppm PAA, EN14476 at 400ppm PAA
• QFD60 RTU is a ready to use (RTU) non-QAC surface disinfectant supplied in a 1 litre trigger spray. EN1276, EN13697 & EN14476
• A23 Virucidal Disinfectant RTU is a ready to use (RTU) QAC surface disinfectant supplied in a 1 litre trigger spray.

• Anti-Viral Cleaner & Disinfectant Concentrate is a hard surface cleaner and disinfectant, tested against EN1276, EN1650, EN13697 and EN14476 (Limited spectrum).
  For bacterial disinfection add 1 shot (15ml) into a 750ml trigger bottle. 
  For virucidal disinfection, add 3 shots (45ml) into a 750ml trigger bottle.
• Anti-Viral Cleaner & Disinfectant RTU is a ready to use, hard surface cleaner and disinfectant, tested against EN1276, EN1650, EN13697 and EN14476 (Limited spectrum).
