Kersia UK Sponsors Best Apprentice Winners Award

The Kersia UK team attended The Society of Food Hygiene and Technology (SOFHT) annual awards event where the company was the proud sponsor of the Apprentice of the Year award category.

The inaugural award was won by two people: Cameron Manderfield from Premier Foods and Mahima Begum from Food Alert.  Their outstanding dedication to both their studies and careers sets a stellar example for their peers. Commentating on Cameron the judges said, “His conscientious forward-thinking approach sets benchmark for apprentices in the food industry.” And on Mahima they noted “Mahima embodies the true spirit of teamwork creating a positive and cohesive work environment.”

Being involved with the awards and sponsoring the Best Apprentice category is key to ensuring that new talent coming into the industry is celebrated. Kersia UK has a long association with SOFHT and is proud to work with the organisation to nurture young talent and promote food industry careers.

SOFHT is an independent consortium of food industry specialists.  It is a voluntary organisation that is committed to representing the views of all involved in food hygiene, food safety and technology across every discipline. It also has a strong focus on the practical application of knowledge and expertise and supports those on the front line of the industry with a Technical Support Centre and it acts as a vital forum for networking and a hub for sharing ideas and best practice throughout the entire food chain.
